Hi All,

We are using Commvault as part DR plan to restore an EC2 application server in AWS.

Our RTO is 4 hours.

Will we be able to acchive this RTO?

Size max 2 TB EC2 server and minimum 250 GB EC2 server.

Regards,

Rahul

Yes but it depends on your restore method

  1. Use auto recovery / replication which is built for this exact scenario and the RTO is possible
  2. Use IntelliSnap and restore from snapshot should also be possible
  3. Traditional restore from S3 library is possible although likely the slowest method out of the 3. Then, there are 3 different restore methods (EBS direct, HotAdd or Import/Export). The latter being really slow. EBS Direct / HotAdd may be able to achieve the performance you need depending on your architecture

Read up on the restore methods and check out the architect guide for more info

Consider there is likely a cost / performance trade off for many of these options.
