Restore oracle out of place fail

Hi,

 

When i perform a restore of instance oracle on another vm , i have this error :

 

Error Code: [18:106]
Description: RMAN Script execution failed with error [ORA-19698: D:\DATA\WATTSDAT\REDOLOG\REDO01.LOG is from different database: id=3217969858, db_name=WATTSDAT]. Please check the Logs for more details.

Hi @DarioV ,

 

The destination server needs a blank database instance started in nomount mode before the restore is initiated.

 

Please refer to the before you begin section from the documentation

Good day @DarioV 

The destination directory may not be empty or may contact files from the previous DB.

 

Please ensure to clear the contents from the destination machine before rerunning the restore.

Hi Gowri,

 

Excuse a stupid question, but on the target vm do I have to create an empty instance before the restore or does commavult do everything by itself?
