Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the restore of Teams planners. I have a customer tried to restore the planner of a teams channel but the restored planner is empty. When restoring to disk, the folder structure is created to mirror the teams\channel\planner path but the resulting folders are empty.

I already found that they did not have planner items enabled in the Office 365 plan which was why the original restore was empty. I enabled this option last week and since that time backups have been running without issue.

I have just browsed the latest backup of multiple teams with planners but all planners are showing empty.

Is there anything else I need to do to be able to restore the planner items? The Commvault environment is running 11.40.47.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi @Paul G

Good day!

You have already enabled "Planner items" in the Office 365 plan. This is required for Planner data protection.
The Azure application used for Teams backups must have the Tasks.ReadWrite.All permission granted in Azure AD.
Environment is running 11.40.47, which is sufficient for Planner backup/restore

Planner data is only backed up if:
The Planner is added as a tab in the Teams channel.
Tasks are associated with a bucket.
If the Planner tab exists but no tasks/buckets are present, the backup will be empty.

Refer: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/software/teams.html

If we still have issue, we will request you to raise a support to check this issue.

Hi @Syed_S,

Thank you for your update. Yes, I did check the planner requirements but not the azure apps. I will verify with the customer about the Azure app permissions.

If they are correct, I will create a case with support.

Kind regards,

Paul
