Salesforce full backups - what about before

We have ran into this more than once with  on-prem 11.36 whereby either a synth or full runs for an org. While the jobs exist prior to the full, the objects cannot be seen, downloaded, or restored.

So the question is - does the cloud version work differently?

Then - if not, is it a limitation in Sf or “the SaaS world in general?”?

If fulls are unavoidable but you lose every aspect of jobs prior, then what? I see nothing in the best practices about this.

thanks

What is the API version

There is no error you simply cannot compare any jobs pre-full. API is 2 I believe.

For the folks wanting to do those compares of deltas between jobs, this is a big deal. I’ve been told that things like Own don’t have such limitations so trying to understand where it comes from.

We have a CMR approved so this might someday be a thing and that I think will be good for everyone.
