Hello team,

I have a question about SAP Hana clients on AWS.

backup are scheduled from the third-party.

The strange thing is when job is completed from third party side, il takes a very long time to complete on commvault side. Any clue about this issue ?

Thanks !!

Hello @Bloopa

These jobs are HANA transaction log backups. At times HANA can generate very high frequent log backups depending on how active and transactional the database is. If we close the job and start a new backup job every time when a log backup is started by HANA, it will be additional overhead and can cause delay in getting a stream reserved and create a pipeline etc. So, we keep the log backup job open for 6 hours by default to service any new log backup that’s triggered by HANA during that time. After 6 hours it will be closed and a new job starts again. These jobs are persistent log backups.

There is no issue here and they are working as expected. Let us know if there is any issue you’re noticing due to these jobs.

Thanks,

Sunil
