Question:

Within device manager on Windows MA I can see under storage controllers that “CommVault Virtual Disk Controller” is disabled. I have 4 physical MA’s and all are showing the same. Is this considered normal? I do have issues sometimes with 1 MA and Intellisnap backups and wondering if this device should be enabled.

Thanks

Hello @Neil Cooper

Absolutely normal!

The CVVD driver will be found on any server that has the Virtual Server, Exchange, File Server, and other Agents installed on it. This is the driver that we use to perform pseudomounts on disks in order to browse and restore from VSA/block level backups.

If it is disabled than I would recommend enabling it!
