Hi All,

Commvault regularly frees up space on magnetic disk library, during this period of time I see high disk activity but I don't see any Jobs in Job Controller. Restore jobs performance considerably drops if we run it at the same time.
Is there possibility to view and control/pause such cleanup/reclamation jobs? It would be useful when you need to do restore as much fast as possible.

You can achieve a temporary suspension of pruning by using a blackout window, in which you define the operational rule Data Pruning. The blackout window is configured on the group of participating Media Agents.

The status of suspended pruning can be checked directly on the Media Agent in the SIDBPrune.log.

Example log entry:

13812 43e8 10/07 19:58:19 ### StartPrunerThreads(4615) PRNCTLR-x-x Not starting any pruning threads as pruning is disabled on MA.

You can find more information here: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/commcell-console/setting_operation_rules_in_blackout_window.html

Hello @euMike ,

Than you for your reply.
This will work for upcoming Data Pruning, but is there way to stop ongoing Pruning?
