Does commvault support SMB3 backup ?
ON HNAS i want to try CIFS/SMB3 backup instead of NDMP.

Yes, but the operating system performing the backup has to. It’s abstract to commvault in that way. As a test, If you can mount the SMB3 share on the backup access node / proxy then Commvault will be able to back it up.

How should I configure it on the client? Do I just install file agent on the NAs? and I create a network share, but I can only choose CIFS/NFS share or NDMP.
And does it need to bee Linux access node to mount the share i guess???
