Tape "The medium is already reserved by some other job"

Hi

i have just primary copy to tape for DB2 .when i try db2  full restore from  tape to disk .i get error messaje like this. i check all article but didnt fix this issue.Any idea

Hi,
maybe not what you think of, but did you try to reduce the number of streams used for the restore to 1 ?
this might solve the issue.
Are you using Multipexing with tapes ?
if yes, the data of multiple streams might reside on the same Medium and Commvault ist trying to reseve it multiple times…..

stream is 1 and didnt use multiplexing.also no secondary copy onlu backup to tape

I’m sorry to say this,

but if you already disable tape caching (as mentioned in the article you already referred to), I’d open a ticket with the support to get this analyzed.

are you sure, that there has not been any backup activity to the same storage policy, that might have reserved the same tape you’re using ?

you can also try to deactivate backup activity for the client  and / or instance your trying to restore.

@johanningk  i already try “ disable backup activity” during restore.

exact.

But I thought, you already applied it to your environment.

it has to be added on the CommCell (not the client or media agent) and switches the default behavior for all tape reservation operations in the CommCell

i did.  just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same  setting .
