Hello Team!

I have a server with SAP Hana configured and although the archive log jobs are running it is not clearing the log area.

The /hana/log directory has reached 99% utilization and to work around the situation I ran the "alter system reclaim log".

I would like to know if there is any configuration for the log area to be cleared after the Archive Log job is completed and prevent it from reaching the limit.

Thanks!

Hi @Caue,

I checked with one of our SAP experts - we do not clean up archive/backup logs for SAP HANA. Apparently we do not have any controls for this, and it has to be managed on the SAP Hana side.

Here are some resources that can help you out:

Hi @Caue

To add to Damian, please see if the log_mode of your HANA instance is set to legacy. It’s rare to use it, but this causes the logs to be kept since the last full backup.

Thanks,

Sunil-
