Hi,
i’m using Simpana 11.20.36 and try from VM guests files and folders a restore.
Then i get this error:
Browse failed due to error while mounting virtual machine: Internal error during Pseudomount of Guest disks.

Then i try an relative actuall update and i get the same error.

Can someone tell me what causes this error?

Regards
Dennis

Hi @Dennis , thanks for the post!

This could be a few things, though first we want to make sure you are not attempting a live browse from tape which is not supported.

Assuming that is not the case, let’s see what FBR.log shows at the time of this failure?

That will lead us on the path to a cause and solution.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks.
No live browse.
Try from my B2D storage.

Where can i find the log?
I search the commcell and my fileserver. But i can’t find a FBR.log file.
Both are Windows servers.

Easiest way to find any job related log:

  • right-click the job and select Send Logs, then pick a local folder.

Everything you need is within the resulting file/package.

But i have no job……….the error comes if i will browse…..
Logs from the job that i will try to restore are here:

Hi,
i have seen that the backup i will restore is only on tape.
Is the a possibility to restore VM guests files and folders from tape?
From B2D it works fine.

Hi @Bharath

Please let me know if you have FREL configured in your environment? In order to perform guest file restore from snapshot backups, FREL is required. After clicking browse and restore > Advanced, do you see FREL (File Recovery Enabler) in the drop down list? If not, please configure FREL:
