Hello…

Can we back up Windows 2003 physical hosts with the latest FR (11.25)? I checked the online docs and Windows 2003 is not mentioned in the supported versions for the Windows agent.

Hope you can advise.

Thanks in advance.

..but you can deploy an older FR version to deploy FS client on it.

That’s better than no backup at all.

But, only do this if it is useless to tell the owner of those obsolete servers to migrate to newer (and supported) OS version !

Hi @RTM

Unfortunately extended support for Windows Server 2003 was withdrawn after 11.22.

11.22 - Announcements

Deprecation and End-of-Life

Support for Windows 2003 and Windows XP Editions is Ending

New installations and upgrades to Feature Release 11.21 is not supported on Windows 2003 and Windows XP editions. To upgrade the Commvault software, you must first upgrade the operating system on your computer to a version greater than Windows 2008. These platforms will remain on extended support until the end of Feature Release 11.22, and then deprecated.

So, the latest version with Windows Server 2003 extended support is 11.22.

Thanks,

Stuart
