Any best practices from Commvault for backing up RODC server?
I didn’t find any documentation on this.
So, I am looking for suggestion on the same.

The question is what are you trying to accomplish with a backup with a RODC?
I would backup the DC with the FSMO roles looking from a DR perspective. Saves you a lot of actions to get the AD up and running 🙂
VM backup should be fine, as long as it is backed up in a consistent state.

Customer just had a query on the best practice for RODC backup if any or no backup.
I will update the same to Customer and see if this helps.

+1We do not backup RODCs as long as that is their only role. On occasion we will have an RODC which also holds a file server role for a very small location and we just use a file system agent on those but don’t worry about the rest of the system. We figure if that RODC goes belly up, we can just recover the data to a different server somewhere to give them access until we can rebuild the VM.
