Hi CV Team,

We want to send CSDB meta data to commvault cloud(metallic). We have whitelisted all CV URLS.

We added internet proxy IP to the commserve host.

When try to enable the setting “upload backup metadata to metallic cloud”, I am getting below error in CVcloudservices.log

“Failed to connect to cvdrservices.metallic.io port 443 after 21000ms, cloudnt connect to server”.

Kindly note, I am able to url the URL upload backup metadata to metallic cloud” on the commserve edge browser.

Do I miss anything here? Do I need to configure HTTP proxy on commcell console ?

If I configure, does it allow access to all clients in environment(which we does not want) ?

You can configure all clients in your CommCell environment to access Internet resources through an HTTP proxy server.

The fact that you can access the URL from a browse does not necessarily imply the OS will be able to access it. When doing it from a browse, you are using the proxy configured for the user, but not the system proxy.

Check if you have environment variables “http_proxy” and “no_proxy”

If you have a HTTP Proxy in your environment - You may need to configure it under “Control Panel - Internet Options - HTTP Proxy”

This configuration will not allow your servers to browse the internel, but only CV Clients to reach resources they may need over the network (i.e access to Metallic)

You've advised you can access the URL from a browse, which means you user has permissions.

But what about the OS? There should be a system proxy that may be causing this issues if the OS itself cannot connect to the URL

Hi, thank you quick reply.

If I am able to access from browser in commserve machine,I believe it implies URL is accessible from OS.

We already added internet proxy IP to the commserve machine proxy settings. Can you elaborate what could be blocking CV to access URL ?

Do I need to configure HTTP proxy on commcell console ?

Below statement is confusing.

You can configure all clients in your CommCell environment to access Internet resources through an HTTP proxy server.
