Hi @Pedro_A

Hosting Commserve on a virtual or physical machine depends on the your existing infrastructure.

I am sharing the hardware requirements for Commserve servers, whether installed on physical machines or virtual environments. Please review the document below and choose the option that best fits your current setup

https://documentation.commvault.com/11.20/hardware_specifications_for_commserve_server.html

The simplest answer is: Microsoft recommends running SQL server in virtualised environment.

In the event of a disaster recovery, if the commserve is virtual and is located in the VMware infrastructure which is down. What would be the procedure to recover the commserve?

Realistically, the procedure is the same as if you lost a physical CommServe server - you would Failover to a Standby CommServe (if configured), or you would Restore from a CommServe Disaster Recovery backup.
