Hi,

A customer is using 1hrs RPO for inc file backup using a Plan.

The want to set a specific start-minute to avoid collision with other activities.

Is this possible in Command Center or do we need to request Commcell Consloe to create a separate Schedule Policy for this?

Hi @Patrik

If I understand your question correctly, you should be able to configure your plan to start at desired minute;

Hi Dude :-)

If you select the inc to run per 1 hrs the start time disappears. Let’s say we want it to run every 20min past.

The 1 hrs RPO starts randomly if you dont start it manually, so depending on starttime after restars and upgrades and whatever stoppes services, the startime and hourly job-repat will differ.

I do see what you are saying and indeed seem to be the default behavior. I did find an similar post to yours where a Commvault employee explains somewhat the same issue you are facing. Here is the exact mention;

“As for the issue with not being able to drill down to a more specific time, I don’t believe we have any options to modify the time from hourly to a more specific time (such as 8:15 instead of 8:00). This may possibly require a Customer Modification Request (CMR) to see if development can implement anything for manual fine-tuning.” from @Chuck Graves

In any case, personally I would much rather use the java interface for that purpose. My experience over the years and since the Command Center came out is basically that any new customer or new installs will work ok setting all things via Command Center, but if you are an older admin and is used to all the complexity of the java interface, it will be really difficult to get used to the way command center works. It would really be awesome if there was a way to translate 1for1 from java to CC but it does not appear to be the CV strategy. I`ll personally stick to the Java as long as we can before doing anything CC.

Thanks
