Hi @MBCC Cloud Team ,

PFB steps for upgrading Commserv and SQL server.

Note:  Ensure CommServe meets the hardware and software requirements for the target version.

  • Beginning with 11.36, Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Standard Edition is used on Windows OS 2016 or higher.
  • Ensure you have a recent Disaster Recovery backup saved in a location different from the Commvault software installation path.
  • Disable CommCell activities and stop all running jobs except DR, VM provisioning, and workflow jobs.

Steps:

  1. Obtain the Download Manager

  2. Start the Download Manager

    • Log on to a Windows computer as an Administrator.
    • Run the Download Manager application and select where to extract the installation files.
  3. Select Installation Type

    • On the welcome page, accept the license agreement.
    • Choose Download packages to install on a different computer.
  4. Select Operating System Type

    • Choose Windows and the appropriate processor type (Win32, WinX64, or WinARM64).
  5. Download Media Options

    • On the Download Media Options page, select Full Media Kit.
    • Ensure you check Include MS SQL Server.
This will include the Microsoft SQL Server media required for CommServe and other server packages.

  6. Navigate to Downloaded Media folders and and Run setup.exe to complete the upgrade.
