I currently have an environment running Commvault version 11.24, and I am planning to upgrade to version 11.32. The CommServe database is hosted on Microsoft SQL Server 2012.

Before proceeding, I need to confirm the following:

  1. Is SQL Server 2012 still supported in Commvault 11.32?

I would appreciate any guidance or experiences from similar scenarios.

Hi @Alexis,

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 is not supported. New installations of Commvault version 11.24 and later versions use MS SQL Server 2019, which requires a minimum of MS Windows Server 2016. Commvault upgrades are still supported. Kindly refer to below document for system requirements.

Hello,

Thank Pradeep,

We will manually upgrade SQL Server, which requires a CommServe reinstallation.

Our current environment is Commvault 11.24, but we do not have the 11.24 installation media, and it is no longer available. The only available media is Commvault 11.32.

Could you please confirm if it is supported to reinstall the CommServe using Commvault 11.32 and then restore using a CommServe DR backup taken on version 11.24?

Thank you for your guidance.

Hi @Alexis ,

Yes, it is supported, and we can proceed with restoring the DR copy that was backed up on SP24 to SP32.
