Upgrade from Commserve 11.36.98 to 11.40

With FR40 there is a SQL upgrade that will happen for the CSDB; it will go from SQL2019 to SQL2022.

i was told that sql installer will be included on the commvault package? can i download this via commcell console? i dont see any option where it would include sql package? TIA

    Hi ​@quartzblu,

    For FR40 upgrades, CommServe SQL database will be upgraded from SQL Server 2019 to SQL Server 2022, please note that the required SQL Server 2022 installation media is typically included only when using the Full Media Kit (Bootstrapper/Download Manager package) with the MSSQL package selected.

    The SQL installation media may not be included in the standard Download & Sync package or software cache downloads from the CommCell Console.

    Recommended approach:

    1. Download the Full FR40 Media Kit from the Cloud Store/Bootstrap. 
    2. When generating the package, ensure that the MSSQL package is selected.
    3. Verify that the SQL Server installation files are available under the ThirdParty\MSSQL folder.
    4. Run Setup.exe from the Full Media Kit to proceed with the SQL Server installation/upgrade.
