Hello,

I have SAP for Oracle backup on single tape, I need to keep it for years. What will happen if I export this tape and delete all related objects in Commvault (Job and storage policy). Will it be possible to load tape back to tape library and import/restore backup form this tape?

You can do a catalog and merge to bring data back in from a tape where data has aged or you deleted the client/storage policy etc. However, I’d highly recommend just leaving those objects there and hiding them rather than removing them and restoring them later.

If this is a ‘SAP for Oracle’ agent, you might want to be careful here!

I believe that you can only ‘File System’ and VmWare is supported.

This comes from wanting to do a catalog with a tape that had an Oracle DB, wasn’t supported!
