Boost FS and Grid store

Forum|alt.badge.img

Actually we testing boostfs (Data Domain) with Commvault it’s possible to configure two MA in Grid store with Boost FS ??

@ythetiot , BoostFS is on the Data Domain (DD) side.  If DD is handling the deduplication, then the Media Agent would be unaware of this fact.

If you have 2 Media Agents writing to that DD device, then it shouldn’t be an issue.

yes but normally when you configure a library with boostfs you point to a local drive mounted on the media agent.

So i don’t know how you can share a local drive for the same path of the library.

You can probably create a library with 2 mountpath 1 on each media agent but in that case it’s not gridstore

i mean if MA goes down in that case the path will become unavailble so yes backup will continue to the second path. But you can’t restore anymore no ?
