Can't do Online Full SAP for Oracle backup

getting the following error

Error Code: [82:172]
Description: Could not connect to the DeDuplication Database process for Store Id [44].
Source: sapdrfr7, Process: backint_oracle

 

don’t find the backing oracle process

any suggestions?

Hi @Eldan , thanks for the post!

The error is indicating a lack of connection from the Oracle client to the Media Agent that houses the deduplication database.

This can normally be addressed by setting up a persistent firewall connection from the Client to the Media Agent:

This will ensure that there is a consistent and defined connection between the 2 servers.

Strange, archive logs backup works just fine.

Dedup is not used for archive logs backups so this is expected.

@Felipe Tenorio beat me to it!  The archive logs don’t engage the dedupe database, so you won’t see this issue when the logs run.
