Hello all,

I’m looking into support for CEPH, namely the block access (RDB) because we’re considering replacing the current SAN arrays with CEPH distributed storage and backup is of course a big segment of it.

But I cannot find much information on integration with CEPH, e.g. support for IntelliSnap feature which is well supported for NetApp/Pure etc, nor which DB agents are supported with CEPH as block storage.

Has anyone played around with this idea? Are there any internal reports or (POC) reviews that could shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Igor

Hi @Firebug Can you check the below document and see if this helps?

Hello Rajiv,

We wont use Ceph for Object Storage, we already have a different solution for this.

We’d like to use it for block access.

Hi @Firebug I understand.

This is our comprehensive list of supported vendors

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/9236_supported_cloud_storage_products.html

Additionally: Clustered File System Storage Support

Disk libraries are supported on clustered file systems such as Global File Systems (GFS), Cluster File Systems (CFS), IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS), and Polyserve File System.

Furthermore, you can also read this community post: Is ceph supported as mount path of a dedup disklib | Community

If you have more in depth questions, it's better to raise a support case.

Best,
