Has anyone used a DDB on a software RAID? I have 2 NVMe drives I want to use Windows Disk Manager to put them into a mirror for the DDB and Index Cache.

Both DDB and index don’t have to be highly available - the software can handle reconstruction and restoration of both - they are both backed up and automatically recovered if something goes wrong (although with HW failure you’d have to replace the drive or do a configuration move to another drive location). As such, I don't think its important to safeguard the hardware with raid unless you absolutely need very minimal downtime in the event of a failure. In that way, you can create two DDB partitions on each disk to allow you to have high availability rather than using raid.

Another consideration; Windows software raid is not very highly regarded - and NVMe drives have a finite number of writes. By using raid1 you are exhausting the writes of both drives at the same time. Maybe not as much of an issue now as it once was, but may be a consideration based on the type of drive you have and its TBW lifespan.
