Question

Gridstor configuration in Commvault 11.36

Forum|alt.badge.img+6

Hi,

I am testing 11.36 version and realized Commcell Console is not installed anymore with new installations.

I you need to use Commcell Console you have to request to technical support.

Is there a way to configure Gridstor from Command Center?

Regards,

Matias

I don't recall to have seen Gridstor coming into Command Center, so I would open a support ticket to get access to the CommCell console on this newly deployed installation.

Indeed, there is no option to configure the data path failover related features.
I’ve highlighted this to the team.

Thanks for your answers, I have opened a support case but they don’t want to give me access to Comcell Console becasue they say it is possible to configure alternate data paths in Command Center, but I am trying to explain there are some configurations that cannot be done.

Best regards,

Matias

Yes, Sheri showed the backup locations which can be expanded with additional MAs. It does not change the fact the other failover options are not yet available in Command Center.

OK Jacek, so if you know Sheri, tell her it cannot be done with Command Center, she is looking for an answer and told me she will be back in 1-2 days.

Thanks,

Matias

1 - 2 days to find an answer that doesn’t exist, instead of just giving a customer access to the CommCell Console!? What is happening with Support?

Hi Amin91,

Finally, support has given me access to Commcell Console for 6 months.

HI Matisardi,

I would like to understand your meaning of “testing”….were you try to reinstall Commvault or upgrading from another version to another version?

I’m also planning to from 11.32 to 11.34 or 36 & I’m using console only for all config. I want to continue with console only so DO I need to take any precaution before upgrading to 11.36?

in case of DR, If I need to reconfigure commcell, will console available?

I would appreciate if other folks can also answer my query :)

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Thanks

This is only the case for new installs. For existing cells who have the CommCell console installed already everything remains the same.
