Index Cache and DDB - AGP

Assuming AGP would be a secondary copy, you can use whatever media agent option you want, ​​​​​​​Azure/AWS/GCP or Oracle, with Windows or Linux OS

The DDB backups and index backups would be sent with the jobs to AGP, so you can provision a new MA any time with access to the library and leverage it for backups/restores, as long as it has access to AGP

Usually, it’s better to keep the index servers (with index cache) and DDB MAs near your workloads for better performance,

Thanks for your reply. The idea is to use AGP for the primary copy.

Assuming no physical HyperScale hardware (where DDB currently stored) where can the DDB be hosted instead?

Tom, you will need to host DDB/Index Cache on the Cloud MA then.

Yes Tom, it is supported just as on-prem MA, it just a server with the media agent packages installed, DDB, and Index Cache
