hello @Alexis
I recommend starting by checking the CvPerfLogAnalyze.log. You can send this log file while running a job.
The Performance Analysis Tool generates a report that identifies bottlenecks and other issues related to the job. It runs automatically as part of the "Sending Log Files for a Job" procedure in the CommCell Console. For more information, you can refer to this documentation:
https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/expert/performance_analysis_tool.html
Note:
- The tool analyzes completed or suspended jobs.
- It evaluates one backup job at a time.
- It only works on jobs that have run for at least 10 minutes.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out!

Hello @Mohamed Ramadan,
Thank you for your guidance. I have analyzed the results from the CvPerfLogAnalyze.log, which are as follows:
- Job Duration: [24, October, 24 01:54:39 ~ 26, October, 24 03:13:19] 37h:18m:40s (134,320 seconds)
- Total Data Read: 12,395,085,000,690 bytes [11,543.82 GB] [257.79 GBPH]
- Total Data Transfer: 2,087,595,306,936 bytes [1,944.22 GB] [2,655.24 GBPH]
- Total Data Write: 2,086,569,795,922 bytes [1,943.27 GB] [1,152.90 GBPH]
- Stream Count: 2
The data read metric appears to be low relative to the total data backed up.
Given that I am backing up my IBM i server using a proxy, can you confirm whether the data read reflects the transfer from the proxy to the IBM i server? Additionally, I would like to mention that my CommServe and MediaAgent are hosted on the same server.
Thank you.
