Hi,

I want to enable Horizontal Scaling but I don’t know how Commvault will handle old clients and subclients.

Do I need to create new client/subclient?

#1 and #3 were answered in the thread.

#1- Re-baseline is not required. Existing clients will continue as-is. New clients will start utilizing the new VM, DB and/or FS DDB partitions.

#3- Seal the DDB if you want to force a re-baseline and start all clients on the new DDB partitions.

There’s probably no way to know for #2. It will depend on data size and resources.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks Scott for linking this tread.

After reading it I have few additional question:

  1. It’s not clearly answered, so re-baseline required additional space or not?
  2. How long will take re-baseline and how great will be impact on overall performance of MediaAgent?
  3. How to force re-baseline?

Thanks,

Marek
