Migrating to new Media Agent Server

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

I’m looking to migrate to new Server Hardware for one of my Media Agents and looking for best approach and minimal downtime.

Was thinking I could setup the new hardware with the media agent role/software and start to move mount paths to the new server.  Once all mount paths have been moved to the new MA I can then update my storage policies to point to the new MA.  Is there anything else I need to look out for or would need to do?

Any advice or knowledge on this would be great.

Thanks

Hi Steven503,

Please have a look through the documentation for a Media Agent Hardware Refresh, It details out the planning and the performing.

I have one question on this procedure..

We have a partitioned DDB on 2 media agents and we want to do a hardware refresh of one of the media servers. can we move the DDB on one server, complete the refresh, install it back and re-configure the partition?

Cheers

Raj
