Moving Tape Drive from one media server to new media server

We have moved a tape drive from one media server to another media server. When configuring the tape drive in the commvault, do we have to deconfigure the old tape drive configuration in the commvault. If so does the assigned tapes on the old media servers loose the data?

Hi @NDP ,

I believe you have shifted scsi from one media agent to another one. In this case we will have to run exhaustive detection by selecting both the media agent and then configure it.  Ran exhaustive detection again with the old media agent and then deconfigure the tape library.

Data will not be lost.

If you have any queries on running exhuastive detection, please do raise an incident with us.

Regards,

Suleman
