Good day,

Please Advise.

  • Error Code: [7:314] The job has failed because the VSS snapshot could not be created.
  • I have checked vssadmin list writers: No errors found.
     State: [1] Stable
     Last error: No error
  • DDB Backup Disk free space is 260 GB
  • Process Manager service: VSS Provider Service is running.

Is this a DDB backup or a WinFS backup? 

The event logs on the OS is going to show you the actual issue, CommVault’s logs usually echo whatever problem the OS reported, but you should be able to find that in filescan.log typically.

Thanks for the assistance, the issue is OS related, disk has got a lock - write protected.

Hello, I have also encountered this problem and did not find that the disk is write protected. How did you troubleshoot it? I need your help

Both Linux and Windows operating systems have this issue
