Hi to all,at a customer I perform an NDMP backup of a Volume containing a VMware Datastore (5 year retention).I need to change the backup type from NDMP to VSA backup (vCenter Client) protecting the entire Volume itself. My question is should I buy double the license capacity or does Commvault understand that it is protecting the same data? The customer has a TB capacitive "Complete" license.

HI Gabriele

I’ve been here before with the capacity license

If you disable the NDMP subclient for backup activity, then that subclient will not count against the license, you can still perform restores!

No need to buy anymore capacity

Regards

Mark
