Hello community,

I try to find Commvault documentation for cluster SQL backup that includes from 2 VMs with a shared Disk.

Im not sure if this is it: https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/161491_configuring_sql_failover_cluster.html

I assume, at the beginning must install SQL agent in both nodes.

After that, how I will schedule SQL backup in Instance level (SQL cluster level) ?

Thank you in advance,
Nikos

Hi @Nikos.Kyrm

Please check if the information below is useful.

Understanding the cluster is very important, if the environmnet is MSSQL Availability Group use the below documentation for configure data protection in Commvault.

Creating an MSSQL Availability Group Client

Refer - https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/17896_creating_mssql_availability_group_client_01.html

If the environmnet is MSSQL on Windows Cluster

Configuring Cluster Group Clients for Windows Clusters

Refer - https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/4983_configuring_cluster_group_clients_for_windows_clusters.html

(OR)

Configuring a SQL Failover Cluster

Refer - https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/87368_getting_started_with_sql_server.html

For both of the high availability configuration, it is important to install Commvault packages (File System, File System Core and SQL) on the nodes.

Hello @Vinod Kumar G

Thanks for your reply! This is what I looking for!

Also in following Commvault tutorial video, you can see (after 2:20) the SQL Cluster configuration steps.

Best regards,
Nikos
