Hi,

Is it possible to search for a file using "find" in a vsa subclient ? I've tried but it always says it couldn't find the file. On the documentation it seems possible.

Thanks

Hi @ITStorageEWL,

You can search for VM Files if you have VM File Indexing enabled.

You can index guest files and folders of Windows and Linux virtual machines on the following hypervisors:

  • Amazon Web Services streaming and IntelliSnap snap copy
  • Microsoft Azure Resource Manager streaming and IntelliSnap backup copy
  • Microsoft Azure Stack HCI streaming backup
  • Microsoft Hyper-V, as follows:
    • Linux virtual machines: streaming only
    • Windows virtual machines: streaming and IntelliSnap backup copy
  • VMware streaming and IntelliSnap backup copy

For further details you can refer to the following documentation link: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/essential/101637_file_indexing.html

Best Regards,

Michael
