Hello,

The customer bought new servers MS SQL and migrate to new 2 servers.

Scenery today:

  • 2 servers MS SQL

1 production

2 copy

New Scenery:

  • 2 servers MS SQL (New Version of O.S. and Database)

1 production

2 copy

and i need to copy the config of backup jobs, with the same configuration of current backup: retention, backups jobs, DDB, schedulers.

Does anyone have any procedure? the best practices to do.

You could do a name change on the ‘clients’ to the new names…..that should work.  You’d basically be telling Commvault that the servers changed names from hostA to hostB (and hostb is the new server name).

Hey @Fernando Souza

why not uninstall the commvault software from the old servers, and deploy to the new servers using the old names and hence assuming the identity of the old servers. That way you can keep everything the same.

Hello @Damian Andre

It´s not possible to change the name of the servers.

Is there another type of copying a backup configuration to the new servers?
