Does this option work for backups that are on tape or does it only apply to disk? What is the impact of activating this option?

Hello
No it is not supported for tape/virtual libraries.
When this option is enabled full databases backups will leverage VSS to perform the backup. It does allow table level recovery and in some situations like Sharepoint mining it makes sense but in general there is no reason to enable this unless you have those two above requirements. +8Dear friends, I have another question, why when the block level is activated, the backups are executed by a single stream, and this is already a problem because it degrades the speed of the backups.
+8Does this happen in all commvault versions, as this degrades the transfer speed too much.
Believe the limitations here is the VSS writer
