Hi. our setup Broadcom VCF9.1.1 cluster 10 hosts, one VSA per hosts. VSAN ESA. 2 VDS, one for VSAN the other for the rest including backup traffic.

We are migrating from a standard VMware 8 cluster to VCF9.1.1

Now we are starting to have issue in VCF9.1.1. VMK0 is crashing during backups. We a had to limit the number streams per CPU for the VSA from 10 to 3 to keep everything under control.

Any tips?

 Hi typer100,

I can’t see any other instances of users reporting similar behaviour so my advice may be a little limited.
I would suggest:
- Validate where in the backup this occurs, this can help narrow down what functions might be leading to the condition.
- Confirm whether there is a hard limit in streams, is 3 the highest you can go, or does 4 work as well?
- Does it occur with all VM Groups or is it only specific groups?

Once you have as much of the above as you can I would raise a support incident with Broadcom and Commvault to investigate further as proper analysis of the dump and the processes causing it will be the only way to accurately get to the bottom of this issue.

Hopefully this helps.
