i have a standalone esxi host .
i have a few VM’s that i can backup and few no .
i started to investigate that issue , and i found in ESXi MOB
that on the VM’s that i can backup have instance UUID
VM’s without instance UUID cant backup.
can commvault backup stand alone host

Stand alone ESXi hosts aren't exactly supported but they do work when configured. Potentially, we could switch these to BIOS UUID and you wouldn't have a problem. However we’d rather review logs first from a case.
Can you open a support case and share the incident number here?
