Hi. If I vmotion a VM that is currently in cluster A, to a new greenfield vcenter let’s call it cluster B, I assume that the UUID will remain the same but will Commvault see that VM as the same and backup history will follow?

Hi @typer100

If the VM's UUID remains unchanged during the migration to the new vCenter, Commvault will recognize it as the same VM and backup history will follow. If the UUID changes, a new client will be created and backup history will not be linked.
