Hi,

I’m trying to back up virtual machines in my OpenShift Virtualization cluster. I’ve already deployed the Access Node within the cluster, and in the Commvault console, I can see the namespaces and pods listed as applications. However, the VMs are not being discovered by the Commvault server.

This setup is running in a lab environment, and I’d like to understand why the VMs are not appearing. Could this be due to a misconfiguration, a licensing requirement, or another limitation that prevents Commvault from backing up OpenShift virtual machines?

Hello @rania bouneb,

Can you clarify which version of Commvault Software that you are using please?

I believe that currently this feature is part of the Commvault Early Adopter program for LTS version 11.40.

It looks like this functionality is available in Innovation Release 11.42: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.42/software/creating_custom_application_group_for_kubernetes.html

Best Regards,

Michael

Hi,

I'm currently running version 11.40. I will upgrade the Commvault software to version 11.42 and test if this resolves the issue.
