Hi,

I keep seeing an irritating warning during Hyper V backup. One host in the Hyper V setup has been de-configured and the SW uninstalled, and the node has been removed from the list in the Hyper V Instance. Also, it does not show up in the preview for the vmgroups. Even so, the warning (Could not establish connection host [.], results may be incomplete) appears immediately when the backup runs. How can I get rid of this host? Please assist.

Hi @Uni ,

The mentioned error typically appears when a decommissioned or offline host is still referenced in your Commvault configuration, especially in Hyper-V or VMware environments.

  • Check Access Nodes:

    • Go to the Hyper-V instance properties.
    • Review the list of access nodes.
    • Remove any decommissioned or offline nodes from the list.
    • Add only active, online nodes.
  • In the CommCell Console, review all sub clients (VM groups) associated with the affected vCenter or virtualization client.
  • Remove any references to the decommissioned host from sub client content, discovery rules, or filters.
  • Right-click the Virtual Server instance and select "All Tasks" > "Refresh Datacenter" to force Commvault to re-sync with vCenter

Hi Pradeep

I have tried all the steps you have mentioned but I still get the warning.
