ESX hosts tag like VM tag

Hi Team,

 

I think there is no option to define the Vmware ESX hosts tag like defining the Vmware VM tag, but I wanted to confirm?

Here is an overview of the supported and non supported tags:

Entity Support

You can select VMs based on tags that are applied to the following entities:

  • Cluster

  • Datacenter

  • Datastore

  • Datastore Cluster

  • Folder

  • Host

  • Resource Pool

  • vApp

  • Virtual Machine

You cannot select VMs based on tags that are applied to the following entities:

  • Distributed Port Group

  • Distributed Switch

  • Library

  • Library Item

  • Network

 

You can define a rule base on tag or tag category:

Hi @Jos Meijer 

 

Can you please share also the BOL link ?  We tried to add with the Host tag but cant see any VM discovered, bu VM tag works fine, we tested it.
