As I understand the Intellisnap backup copy process: we have virtual proxy
- will mount the SS (storage snapshot) to ESX host (proxy ESX host) from the backup that had run
- will it register a temp vm
- if the proxy vm resides on the same proxy esx host; it will use hot-add wherein it will attach the vmdk on the storage snapshot in step a and read the data via the guest OS and push it to MediaAgent on the appropirate guest vm network
- however if the proxy VM is on a diffrent esx host; it will use nbd to copy the data and send data to MediaAgent
My question is if say that proxy is engaged in backup copying more than 1 vms which are on different datastores and someone runs the same Intellisnap backup a. will the intellisnap backup fail as there is a proxy VM which has disks across 2 different datastores.
