Hello Community

We want to save a VM backup “Commvault Version 11.28.73 of a virt.Windows 11 VM under Nutanix AHV Version el7.nutanix.20220304.423, but unfortunately that doesn't work. A snapshot can not be set “Internal server error” and this error message appeared here:
Description: Unable to create a virtual machine snapshot of [windows11-testvm]. [Internal Server Error.] Please check the virtual machine snapshot tree.Source: cvcs, Process: JobManager

Hello @hjensen

Is this a fresh configuration? How have you configured Nutanix in Commvault? Is this with Prism Central name/IP or with Prism IP?

Also, please share the failed backup job id along with the JobManager logs from cvcs (commserve)

Best,

Hello Rajiv.

It is not a fresh configuration.

We have two Nutanix clusters, each with a MediAgent on which we back up. In Commvault have deposited an AdminUser. The respective cluster is stored with its NetBIOS name, i.e. not with its IP and each cluster also has a cluster IP and one only ISCSI Data Services IP

Hello @hjensen

Looks like a problem on Nutanix itself while creating a snapshot of this VM. Can you verify if snapshot operation is possible for the failed VM from Nutanix console ?

NutanixSDKWrapper::CAcropolisOperationsV3::WaitForSnapshotStatus() - Error state [ERROR] for snapshot [050e8023-c722-4cfc-8760-f4c0f5319cbd] - [Internal Server Error.]

505 16888 2144 08/03 12:31:17 1455333 CNutanixDiskInfo::GetDiskList() - Unable to find open VM Handle for windows11-testvmhje

Also can you verify following requirements below are met for our VM  guests which are failing.

https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/3338_system_requirements_for_virtual_server_agent_with_nutanix_ahv.html

I found the solution myself. If you create a Windows 11 VM under Nutanix AHV, the TPM configuration is required here. As soon as this VM has been deployed and shut down, you have to enter and confirm the command vm.update <vm-name> virtual_tpm=false with SSH in a CVM via acli.Delete VTPM config for 1 VMs? (yes/no) yes So undo TPM. After that the VM backup and Nutanix Replikation OnPrem and to Xi (DRaaS) works fine.
