Hi Team,
We have multiple VMware VMs running MySQL databases. We do not want to install any Commvault iDataAgent inside these VMs and plan to perform agentless VSA (VMware snapshot-based) backups for them.
Could you please confirm the following:
-
Whether agentless VMware snapshot backups for these MySQL database VMs provide application-consistent (MySQL-consistent) backups ?
-
In case of VM restore (either in-place or out-of-place), will the MySQL database be recoverable without any corruption or data inconsistency issues?
-
Will the database be restored to a consistent point-in-time corresponding to the available recovery point of VM ?
We want to ensure that database consistency and integrity are maintained during backup and restore operations without deploying the MySQL iDataAgent.
