Hi,
we use Commvault 11.20 and i try to restore Guest files and folders from my Windows VMs.
We use vSphere 7.x.
I get this error when i try to browse to a Windows VM:
Browse failed due to error while mounting virtual machine: Internal error during Pseudomount of Guest disks.

Any idea?
In my other Agent with another vCenter it works fine.

Thanks and regards
Dennis

Hey @Dennis , any chance this are App Aware backups?

Check cvma.log for the error:

VSS software snap not found

I searched our internal database for that error and saw many cases resolved by this article:

https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=92473.htm

There’s a few options depending on what fits your situation.

Thanks, the problem only occur when i use this option.
If i use “Full Virtual Machine” recovery this works fine.
Problem exists on all Windows VMs.

Problem solved…
Commvault Virtual Disk Controller was deactivated.

Thanks for coming back to share!!!

Hello @Dennis , I would like to know if it would be possible to help me, I have the same error message that happened to you, but in my case it only happens with Linux machines. Any idea what it could be?

@Leandro Barbieri , if @Dennis is not able to advise, I would create a new case for your issue as I was not able to find one when he encountered the issue.

Hi, sorry but i’m using only Windows machines…….

Hi @Dennis & Commvault community,

I have the same error for Windows VM but I’m not able to find Virtual Disk Controller option!

Can you please tell me how I can enable it ?

Thank you,

Regards,

Ardian
