Good day guys
I hope you are well
we have a VM that is not getting backed up fully at all.
The only thing that is getting backed up fully is the file server only.
I don’t see any issues with the VM. Does not show any error of consolidating the VM etc
will migrating to another datastore help with this kind of error ?
we are using vmware vsphere as our virtual infrastructure

error message-

Hi @Nissan SA

Looking at the log event you pasted in the post, I would assume there are multiple snapshots on the VM since we see the snap delta for all three VMDK’s: 000005.vmdk.

Can you check how many Snaps are present for the VM ZA-VM-LENEL02?

If there are no Snaps, you could either try a VM Consolidation or a Storage vMotion and then re-check the results afterwards.

If you need more urgent support, Please raise a support case and we’ll be happy to assist you further.

Best Regards,

Michael

Good day Michael
i hope you are well
we have two snapshots on the VM.
so since there is two snapshots on the VM, does it mean i have to delete them and then do storage vMotion from one data storage to another and check again?

thanks

Hello @Nissan SA

You can delete the two snapshots of the VM and consolidate the snapshots. This would help the VM to be free of snapshots.

Post that, you can run a new backup job and let us know the status. You can open a support case if this step didn’t help and you still see the same error.
