Hello, I would like to request your help as i’m quite new and have only basic knowledge of backup systems.After reading the commvault documentation available online and tried to troubleshoot the issues, they were narrowed down to 3: Sealed DDB are not aging out. When I try to run a verification of existing jobs on disk and deduplication database it says DDB is corrupted. we have our disks full, as the backups all have stopped.When i run the data retention forecast and compliance report it says “BASIC CYCLE” as reason why jobs are not aged out, i have this dedup policy to age out jobs after 1 cycle, so i guess that if i do a full backup, the previous will be aged out.. except i dont have any available disk space. Also I was unable to find a DDB backup as it seems there was never one to begin with. Should i reconstruct one new from the group up? How can i reduce the size of sealed DDBs as they are quite old.
Does anyone know where these alerts are coming from? I know that CommVault has turned on some alerts that cannot be turned off AND that my company is having a great deal of trouble with the accuracy of reporting coming from cloud.commvault.com so I’d like to keep my reporting in house until the company can stabilize a bit in that department. For now I’d just like to turn off all reporting from webconsole and cloud.commvault.com. I think we’ve killed everything from cloud.commvault.com (extremely messy) but we aren’t sure where these are coming from. I have a question regarding the File Indexing for Advanced reporting and search in Command Center. It’s not 100% clear for me after reading docs online.Let’s assume I enable indexing on one VM group. I understand that the MA associated with the storage policy used to backup this VM group will automatically have some roles installed and become index server.Now let’s assume I enable indexing on a different VM group where I use a different MA for backup. What will be the behaviour:Will a second, separate index instance be created? I will have two separate MA index servers and two separate indexes? Will I have a second indexing “node”, but the index will be shared between MA1 and MA2?

Hello,I want to find the equivalent command as "commvault -csname" that was use on Unix client to get the hostname of the commserve used. Does the same command for Windows exists ? It is for use with ansible. Some client are not installed correctly the commserve Hostname stay at @@commserve@@. we Want the check on the client the name. If the name is @@commserve@@ then we Will reinstall automatically. Thanks !

Hell CV Community I have what I think might be an issue. One of our team updated to SP 11.21.34 from SP 11.20.36. However what we have noticed that all our Hyper-V hosts (physical servers) need a reboot due to one of the hotfixes that came down with the SP which is as follows“Install/Upgrade of package: [dotnetfx462] required a reboot. The job will resume after the reboot. To resume the job immediately, resubmit the job with the 'Reboot Client' check box selected”. My main question is, will this be an issue having a load of servers on a different service pack from others? It is not feasible to reboot all the hosts as part of the upgrade as these servers host Virtual servers which host live servers.ThanksTony Q
Hi all,We have a customer who needs to restore a large VM (multiple disk and TB’s).This job runs for days and than ends with Failure Reason: Unable to modify the VMX file for restore of virtual machine [vm-name]. Attempt start error: [The parameter is incorrect., Port passed is not valid. [0/0]. (W32.87)] We did not find out why, but customer would like to see that the disks restored are not automatically deleted. Is there a way in Commvault?Does the additional setting SkipDeleteVm also apply on “regular” VM restore or only on Virtualize Me?And would an Service account with no delete be an outcome or does this have to many side effects?Already my thank in advance. This includes taking a backup of /etc/fstab. Pausing and Resuming the Ransomware Protection is documented here:https://documentation.commvault.com/11.23/expert/126097_pausing_and_resuming_ransomware_protection.html However, we also nee a “rollback plan” in case we run into issues and want to rollback to the previous state (before enabling Ransomware Protection). Any documentation on that? Thanks!
