Hi Commvault Community, i would like to see, if anyone else is facing the same Issue. We have a few customer that are still using Tapes to move weekly/monthy Backups to a save location.With the change to “forever incremental” they are now facing a big issue to collect all the backups of the agent on to the exported tape. There is no process to generate a Synth. Full or everything likewise.One customer is still holding on to the “old” exchange one-pass classic agent, so he don’t lose the Synth Full Options.Another customer is manually creating a new Storage Policy Copy every month to get all the Backups on the same tape.We have shared this problem a few months ago, we even had a talk at the GO 2019 with dev. Back then we there told there will be a solution on its way, we could expect it for SP20. Now we are at SP26 and there is still no option for these customer.

Hello Everyone,We have a huge fileserver and currently we are backingup to AWS S3 and this is becoming tough for us to backup within the window. We tried to use storage accelerator, but that didn’t work as expected.We wanted to have a local copy first and then move ( not copy)  it to cloud as data is huge. How can we achieve this on a daily basis - take a backup locally and then move to cloud.Please advise.

Getting the following when CommVault attempts to reconstruct the DDB  User: Administrator Job ID: 353464 Status: Failed Storage Policy Name: BTR_Global_Dedupe Copy Name: BTR_Global_Dedupe_Primary Start Time: Sun Nov 28 17:33:46 2021 End Time: Tue Nov 30 03:45:22 2021 Error Code: [62:2035] Failure Reason: One or more partitions of the active DDB for the storage policy copy is not available to use.  Is there any way around this error so I can get backups going again?  It has tried a couple of times for multiple days.

one of SharePoint sites backup just hang in there right after complete the scan phase and stuck at 25% forever where other SharePoint subclients backup with no issue the subclient only has one site in the content observed this particular subclient allocates one stream with zero application size and no throughput and no error reported ***repeating message in the CVSPBackup.log*** 892   1098  12/15 08:03:18 505420 CvThreadPool::waitForAllThreads() - Thread Pool [SharePointBackupThreadPool]. DDB Performance and Status Health Report shows that all DDB need upgrade.  CommVault FR 11.25.9After running the Workflow, Is there anything else I need to do to? Do I need to enable Garbage collection?  

Hello team, I noticed two sealed DDBs have a space warning under DDB disk space Utilization section in webconsole health report.We have a long term retention for mailbox backup that prevent DDB store from reclaim   I’m looking to see if there is a way to exclude sealed DDB from the DDB disk space utilization /strike count (I have search CV bol but it doesn’t bring any search result)Or i’ll need to contact support to manually free up sealed ddb space. Do need upload CS DB for CV staging ? thank you

Our proxy ESXi hosts are reporting:Deprecated VMFS (ver 3) volumes found. Upgrading such volumes to VMFS (ver 5) is mandatory for continued availability on vSphere 6.7 hosts.Our volumes on our HPE 3par and local are all VMFSv6. The prod ESXi hosts haven’t reported this warning. We cannot find these errant volumes.This comes up during VADP backups.VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 17700523, Commvault 11.20.82I’m hoping someone else has suggestions or and explanation of this. 

Hi,When I perform a "full virtual machine restore" in place of a vm without first deleting the vm in the vCenter, the VM is recognized correctly both in the vRealize environment and in the vCenter environment.If, on the other hand, I delete the VM in the vCenter before proceeding with the restore in place, the VM is no longer recognized in the vRealize environment but only in the vCenter environment.Below is a screenshot highlighting the error: 

Hello community,I am trying to implement Live Sync Direct between two VMware environments. Both VMware environments contains it's own Vcenter Servers and local storage. Both VMware enivornments have a virtual MediaAgent with VSA agent installed.I’ve succesfully installed the blr drivers (VAIO) on the ESX hosts. I can configure Live Sync direct without any problems. When replicating the first VM I can see that a virtual machine is created on the target site with DR at the end as it should be. However after a couple of minutes I can see in VMware at the target site that Commvault wants to create the VM again. Because the VM is already there Commvault restarts the whole process again and after 8 minutes the same message appears again. I am using Maintenace Release 26 latest hotfixes.Any ideas?    

Hi, is there a way to migrate a client from one Commserve to another completely new?I do not need the history of the backups performed but only to keep the configurations, like subclient content. I tried in the Commcell console by installing a new Client with the option “fetch the configuration information...” but at the end it looks for an xml file "preimagemodefile.xml". Currently both the old Commserve and the Client are reachable via IP from the new Commserve.  

I want to backup a single mysql db to CV, but the backup dialog window  doesn’t have an option for me to select which db to backup.It seems that CV will backup all the mysql databases from the db server.Can anyone help?

Hello team, I have two questions about license. A customer is going to introduce CV license 100TB and 100TB for two Commserves.But there is a good chance that a Commserve overuses the license more than 100TB and another Commserve only uses the license less than 50TB.For this situation, customer wants to be able to adjust the CV license in a flexible way between two Commserves.(In a nutshell, customer wants to divide the license quantity within 200TB by usage by themselves)So is there any flexible way to move TB license between two Commserves according to the license usage by themselves?Or should we do request the reissue to license team when it required? For VM10 pack license, "Protected Virtual Machines" and "Virtual Operating Instance" are all supported?Customer needs to back up the virtual machine using both agentless and agent manner. Thanks.

Hi Team,For trigerring of the File Anomaly alerts is there a specific threshold value for that. Or do we have any additional setting or setting that  we can mention a threshold value to trigger the alerts.Ex: Only when files modified or created or any activity are more then 10000, then only I should receive File Anomaly alert. Please let me know if we have any setting that we can limit this.

Hello All,  We have couple of challenges to be fixed in the environment,  Aux copies:Aux copies are running sometime slow and fast and we are never able to achieve the replication completion as primary copies To reduce the data we chose to change from synchronous copies to selective copies of all full backups But still we have fallen behind copiesEnvironment:5 GBPS express route from dc to azure - which is a optimal bandwidthAll backups are routed to azure blob storage through the media agents in the dc Question:These below additional setting , can be applied in common for all media agents ? Hi, Given that I have never updated the commcell, I should update the current release v11 SP16 and bring it to service pack 24.What are the steps to take?Is it an activity that is done hot?Could my clients have problems?Thanks for your help 

If I add a VM to the filter list in a VM-subclient today, to stop it from being backed up, and we have 365 days monthly retention in the subclient storage policy, it will still be available for restore in june, right?Or do I need to create a separate subclient, with its own storage policy with retention details, add the VM to the subclient, run a full backup, and finally disable activity?

we will have about 400 users to be added w/ Microsoft 365 F1 licenses, would CV still assign/consume licenses if mailbox, sharepoint, onedrive and team are disabled?the main purpose of MS 365 licenses is for authentication which require by an application. thank you.

Has anyone recently upgraded to MR13 (11.26.13) and using Application aware VM backups for SQL encountered problems with the VSAAppAwareBackupWorkflow job getting stuck at the "Waiting for backups" task?- This appears to be an intermittent problem.It fails three out of five times.- There is no connectivity problem.- There is no mismatch between the client and host names.- The credentials used to instal application plug-ins and backup virtual machines and application data are the same.-Repaired the CV updates on the SQL clients (after which there was a successful backup and the one after that is back at hung state).- VSA jobs for VMDKs appear to be fine, and it appears that only client-based agent backups are affected.There are no crashes or error messages printed in the logs, so it appears to be hung.  I have raised a Commvault support ticket a few days ago so is actively worked on, I posted on here in case anyone might have had a similar issue and could possibly advise the fix at the

HiI can see qScripts for enabling a subclient for SLA ‘inclusion’But I cant see one for individual VM’s The scenario I have isOver 1700 VM’s (various VM’s, Various Groups) have been marked as ‘Excluded from SLA property’I've hunted for any Groups, Subclients that may have had an effect on the VM’s (There are non) and finally realised this ‘exclusion’ has been set at an individual VM level.Rather than clicking through each individual VM, is there a QScript I hope I havent missed something simple - as Excluded from SLA Property is a purposeful exclusion through a CommCell Option - But I simply cannot find where the exclusion is be ‘pushed’ fromAnd typically hitting ’Include in SLA’ (See the image above) will (sometimes) provide a reason why a VM is excluded and also ‘warn’ you that other related VM’s in ‘Group/Client/Subclient xyz’ will also be included
