Hi, I’m trying to record answer file for Commserve Active and Passive unattended installation. Unfortunately when I create custom package for CS with Failover it doesn’t ask whether it’s for Active or Standby Commserve, so the answer file I got allows me only to install Active Commserve. Is it possible to create answer file for Stanby Commserve installation? 

I’d like to move one MA from ComCell1 to ComCell2, what is the process? After migration, may I use CommCell2 to restore file from MA which backed up three months ago?

Hello, I installed and configured the Commvault Splunk plugin available at: https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/5718/ To respect the “least privilege” rule, I created a service account with the role “Report Management” on the Commcell to allow Splunk to retrieve the logs and jobs information. But it doesn’t work, here are the Splunk logs generated from the plugin:“2021-11-23 10:03:05.040906 click_result Attempting to login2021-11-23 10:03:05.598242 click_result ERROR 106 'NoneType' object is not subscriptable” First, I thought it was a password issue but when inserting a false password, I have another log:“2021-11-23 10:23:08.698105 click_result Password not entered. Can SharePoint Online be backed up to an on-premise Commvault environment or can it only be backed up to Azure Storage?

Hi All, I have enabled ransomeware protection for Linux MA servers, i can see a context has been added to all the NFS mounts in fstab. entry. so if i want to add new NFS shares then do i have to manually add the same context to  the new NAS share or i have to execute the same command which is mentioned in below link and then reboot the server ? https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/122761_ransomware_protection_for_disk_libraries_on_linux_mediaagent_01.html  

Hello,In the documentation for setting up a Hyper-V hypervisor for backup it’s stated that the VSA need to be installed on the commserve computer, I take it thats the commcell?Whats the purpose of it being installed there?Can someone explain the Hyper-V configuration maybe. I have done vmware hypervisors but no hyper-V sofar.Appreciate all help.//Henke

Hello,Id like to give my team permissions to delegate a mailbox to a user. I currently have Tenant Admin permissions and would like to start setting up some Permission Roles instead of granting top level access.Does anyone know which permissions are needed to complete the delegate action?

How do I to remove orphan storage policy with no associated subclients?

I have a media server containing several storage policies. Now I need to move one of the policies and files to a new media server. How do I find how much physical storages space the storage policy uses on the disks of the media server?And is this size the same it will use on the new server when moved (create new primary copy)?

Hello,What is the best solution for VMware VSA backup, use of incremental or differential backups?currently we use incremental and synthetic fulls, is there any improvement for restores to use differentials backups instead of incremental?regards Juergen

Hi all, Currently user is running v11 SP25, Oracle backup was running fine until user upgraded Oracle firmware and hence the Full backup hit the abnormal behavior, failed and resumed and backup size will grow up to 33tb (actual DB size is 5tb) I am not sure what is causing this issue, from logs I only manage to identified that connection was  15873 460e 02/19 13:15:23 1336308 CCvNetworkServer::ReadThread() - Could not peek for data format. Error:'0xFFFFFFFF:{CCvNetwork::PeekDataFormat(6495)} +  Just wondering if it was network issue it should not be able to run backup at all. I have attached some logs, appreciate if anyone could share some idea which part to check on. Thanks.

 Do we ever reset back to job 1?  In other words, if we have more than X jobs, does the next job ever go back to 1?

Hi, I am new to Commvault and was trying to test some Commcell migration features. But everytime I tried to export from a CommServe, the job gets suspended with an sql failure in the logs. I did try it on 11.26.0, 11.26.8 and got the same results. Hello guys,I have an error below:NDMP Data Connection is on Interface [lif_XX-XX_MGMT] Port [e0M] IP: [xx.xx.x.58] with Speed [1000 Mbps]. Higher speed [10000 Mbps] port is available on the file server [xx.xx.x.58] which may improve performance. Please check with the file server vendor for configuring NDMP preferred data interface.but no port is blocked, a few days ago the backup ran smoothly, and now it's giving an error can someone guide me how to proceed

Hi, I was migrating commserva to a new machine using CommServe Hardware Refresh: Setting Up the CommServe Database in the New Hardware.What went wrong was the remnants of Commserve Life SyncWhen I click Commserve Livesync, what is shown in the picture. I don't know forvery much like debugging it. I bet that some remnants of the previous oneconfiguration. I can't see anything in the logs. 

I need to restore from tapes I backed up to about a year ago. When I put the year old tapes into my library it says they are empty/spare media. I run a full scan and it completes instantly and nothing is updated. Is there a way to inventory the tapes like in backup exec? I am new to using commvault.

Dear Community,Comcell: 11.24.23i want to created a workflow for the UseCase Mailbox User Offboarding. The Form should be trigger with smtp Mail Variable and create a Backup and Restores the Mailbox as .pst to a UNC Path. My big Problem here is that the Workflow doesnt understand the InstanceTyp → Exchange Mailbox there is no Q_xxx that suits for that in the List , when i try with Q_MSECH_MB the jobs goes in pending state with “Failed to enumarate iDataAgent…..”, there are only Q_MSEXCH for 2003,2k archiv,db available but nothing Office 365.Or he says that the Client has not installed the Module …. When you initiate a backup via GUI he uses as iD
