Hello community,I am trying to implement Live Sync Direct between two VMware environments. Both VMware environments contains it's own Vcenter Servers and local storage. Both VMware enivornments have a virtual MediaAgent with VSA agent installed.I’ve succesfully installed the blr drivers (VAIO) on the ESX hosts. I can configure Live Sync direct without any problems. When replicating the first VM I can see that a virtual machine is created on the target site with DR at the end as it should be. However after a couple of minutes I can see in VMware at the target site that Commvault wants to create the VM again. Because the VM is already there Commvault restarts the whole process again and after 8 minutes the same message appears again. I am using Maintenace Release 26 latest hotfixes.Any ideas?    

Hi, is there a way to migrate a client from one Commserve to another completely new?I do not need the history of the backups performed but only to keep the configurations, like subclient content. I tried in the Commcell console by installing a new Client with the option “fetch the configuration information...” but at the end it looks for an xml file "preimagemodefile.xml". Currently both the old Commserve and the Client are reachable via IP from the new Commserve.  

I want to backup a single mysql db to CV, but the backup dialog window  doesn’t have an option for me to select which db to backup.It seems that CV will backup all the mysql databases from the db server.Can anyone help?

Hello team, I have two questions about license. A customer is going to introduce CV license 100TB and 100TB for two Commserves.But there is a good chance that a Commserve overuses the license more than 100TB and another Commserve only uses the license less than 50TB.For this situation, customer wants to be able to adjust the CV license in a flexible way between two Commserves.(In a nutshell, customer wants to divide the license quantity within 200TB by usage by themselves)So is there any flexible way to move TB license between two Commserves according to the license usage by themselves?Or should we do request the reissue to license team when it required? For VM10 pack license, "Protected Virtual Machines" and "Virtual Operating Instance" are all supported?Customer needs to back up the virtual machine using both agentless and agent manner. Thanks.

Hi Team,For trigerring of the File Anomaly alerts is there a specific threshold value for that. Or do we have any additional setting or setting that  we can mention a threshold value to trigger the alerts.Ex: Only when files modified or created or any activity are more then 10000, then only I should receive File Anomaly alert. Please let me know if we have any setting that we can limit this.

Hello All,  We have couple of challenges to be fixed in the environment,  Aux copies:Aux copies are running sometime slow and fast and we are never able to achieve the replication completion as primary copies To reduce the data we chose to change from synchronous copies to selective copies of all full backups But still we have fallen behind copiesEnvironment:5 GBPS express route from dc to azure - which is a optimal bandwidthAll backups are routed to azure blob storage through the media agents in the dc Question:These below additional setting , can be applied in common for all media agents ? Hi, Given that I have never updated the commcell, I should update the current release v11 SP16 and bring it to service pack 24.What are the steps to take?Is it an activity that is done hot?Could my clients have problems?Thanks for your help 

If I add a VM to the filter list in a VM-subclient today, to stop it from being backed up, and we have 365 days monthly retention in the subclient storage policy, it will still be available for restore in june, right?Or do I need to create a separate subclient, with its own storage policy with retention details, add the VM to the subclient, run a full backup, and finally disable activity?

we will have about 400 users to be added w/ Microsoft 365 F1 licenses, would CV still assign/consume licenses if mailbox, sharepoint, onedrive and team are disabled?the main purpose of MS 365 licenses is for authentication which require by an application. thank you.

Has anyone recently upgraded to MR13 (11.26.13) and using Application aware VM backups for SQL encountered problems with the VSAAppAwareBackupWorkflow job getting stuck at the "Waiting for backups" task?- This appears to be an intermittent problem.It fails three out of five times.- There is no connectivity problem.- There is no mismatch between the client and host names.- The credentials used to instal application plug-ins and backup virtual machines and application data are the same.-Repaired the CV updates on the SQL clients (after which there was a successful backup and the one after that is back at hung state).- VSA jobs for VMDKs appear to be fine, and it appears that only client-based agent backups are affected.There are no crashes or error messages printed in the logs, so it appears to be hung.  I have raised a Commvault support ticket a few days ago so is actively worked on, I posted on here in

Hello, guys. So we are having this issue on this thing.We are currently backing up some files from the physical disk(RDM) attached to the VMs.Based on the report for today,...The capacity license has been exhausted ,(those VMs were onboarded as individua clients), the VMs with virtual disks were all successful, but the customer is saying the file system backup of those RDM disk should consume the VM license and not capacity.  Is there how to do a workaround on this. They still have about 60 VMs licenses that has not been consumed. Will really be glad if I get someone with experience on this to help clarify or suggest the best way to go

Hello to all!In a fresh Commvault installation for o365 backup, I’m trying to find the way to manual exclude some user licenses from SharePoint online!From the first time when configured the SharePoint online, automatically assign all the o365 users to SharePoint Online license (from Application User Licenses tab).From Command Center Im available to manual exclude users from Exchange and also OneDrive, but I cant find a way to exclude users from SharePoint online. In order to save some user licenses :)Any idea ?

Hello Commvault Community! I would like to ask you if there is any option to do a "tape mirror". I mean 1:1 copying the data from one tape to another, but keeping the data on both tapes. I am aware that there is a "Tape to tape copy" option, but if I understand correctly it deletes the data from the source tape and copies it to the new one available in Spare Media. The reason why the customer wants two copies of the data on two different copies is the security rules of their company, where they must have one tape in the safe and the other in the active Tape Library. I suggested to make another copy in Storage Policy backup to tape with the source copy from disk, but then we can't be sure that the tapes will be 1:1. Is there any chance we can make a tape mirror? Move Contents of Media from One Tape to Another

Hello Commvault Community, I hope you are doing well. I come to you with a question about granular data verification for virtual machine backup jobs.  The customer has a problem with the data saved on the tapes, the matter is quite heavily consulted in the Commvault support. (Incident 211108-483) Due to the current situation, the client will need to backup the entire environment. Therefore, when having problems writing data to tapes, I need to be sure which jobs may have problems with restoring task (mostly virtual machines). When a job fails with a chunk it should be a reference to JobID.  I am aware of this that Commvault has a VM-Centric mechanism that divides jobs into Parent Jobs and Child Jobs, but the client unfortunately has a VMware Pseudoclient in the indexing version V1, not V2. Hello,Could someone please provide the proper steps to decommission the Windows media agents and asssociated DDB, and Disk Libraries?   We have migrated to hyperscale and the legacy environment needs to shutdown.  It is just running DDB backups and Index backups.

I would like to take some of our long term tapes and copy them to our cloud instance, but when I right click on the tape and select recopy - I get “Recopy operation for media of a primary copy is not allowed”, when I try tape to tape I only see the on-prem libraries so I cannot trick it into going to our cloud instance.  How would I go about doing something like this.  I would like to get away from being dependent on having a specific library around for older tapes that we are required to keep long-term.  Especially when those tape libraries go end of life and I still have tapes that can only be read in them. 

Hello Commvault Community, I want to ask you and ask for help on overwriting the Oracle database. A daily schedule is created to overwrite the Oracle databases from "abc.PROD." to "abc.TEST". The process is correct, but after the operation is completed, the overwritten database often remains in the "STARTED" instead of "OPEN" mode. We can raise it to the "OPEN" state and the situation is ok. Repeating the overwrite operation is also always correct and the database is available. Are we able to somehow change the configuration so that the database is always in the OPEN state, and not STARTED, after the overwriting task is completed?
