Hi, I found one of my colleagues destroyed one of the server we backed up via File System agent without previously de-configuring it in Commvault. That ended up in a backup job stuck in pending status on “scan” phase during days.Is there any way to force a backup to be killed if it is stuck in a specific task and it has no progress after some time, possibly without using workflows?Thanks!

can someone please guide me in creating workflow which will rerun failed backups, and I will want to schedule that work flow at least two times a day.

What is the best migration strategy?1- Prepare a new machine, with a new IP and new hostname, install and configure everything (it is possible that there will be a problem with licensing, because I don't know if we can have two CommServe instances running at the same time) and after everything is ready, point the clients for that new host?Or2- Create a new machine, install and configure all related CommVault services, and on migration day, change that new machine's name and IP to reflect the environment's current CommServe hostname and IP?Obs.: I remember that I would not like to bring jobs, policies, any configuration of the current CommServe, I would like to configure and review everything from scratch, in order to review the entire current environment and eliminate possible gaps.I understand that for my case, option number 1 would be the most ideal, but I don't know the complexity of making all the clients that today point to CommServe A (f

Since Microsoft has announced they will stop development of EWS in favor of their Graph API we have received multiple questions from customer that ask if their mailbox backup is using Graph or EWS API for the backup and/or recovery.https://devblogs.microsoft.com/microsoft365dev/upcoming-changes-to-exchange-web-services-ews-api-for-office-365/I have not yet been able to find clear documentation about what Mailbox agents use which API to connect to O365. We are recommending for all customer to use modern authentication but several customer are asking official documentation that explain this.Can anyone help me with this? This is for all Exchange Online as well as hybrid setups.

Hey All, i need to troubleshoot some problems by sending reports. But i dont see the right logfile….  Could you give me an hint in wich logfile comvault log the mailing ?  I tried to send an test mail and checked the log if one logget an newer timestamp but nothing…  Thanks

Hi and best wishes to you ! This may not be related to it at all, or not, I do not know, but as most of us, we upgraded in late december our versions, and on my side I updated up to v11.24.29. I was at v11.24.23 before the log4j panic  Then I went on an end-of-year well awarded vacation. But coming back, I have noticed that now I have a lot of automatically generated reports failing.  Common point was they were scheduled to be ran at the same time. So I reviewed them, spanned other the time to avoid the Commserve’s CPU and DB crush. It went a bit better, but still failed.So I dug deeper, and noticed some reports got stuck in the job queue. Looking at the webconsole.log file, here’s what I could find : 1014  ERROR ExportHandler:runAndGetPhantomJSStatus:1004 - Failed to run PhantomJS

Owing to issues with network and Cloud we are having to use Tape Media as 2ary storage (offline).  I would like to have 3 media pools:  Daily, Monthly and Annual. Can someone remind me how to assign scratch media to the new media groups ?  I am trying to separate backup sets based on retention.Help appreciated.

Hi all, Currently user is running v11 SP25, Oracle backup was running fine until user upgraded Oracle firmware and hence the Full backup hit the abnormal behavior, failed and resumed and backup size will grow up to 33tb (actual DB size is 5tb) I am not sure what is causing this issue, from logs I only manage to identified that connection was  15873 460e 02/19 13:15:23 1336308 CCvNetworkServer::ReadThread() - Could not peek for data format. Error:'0xFFFFFFFF:{CCvNetwork::PeekDataFormat(6495)} +  Just wondering if it was network issue it should not be able to run backup at all. I have attached some logs, appreciate if anyone could share some idea which part to check on. Thanks.

We have a Media Agent located in China and business need is to aux copy primary data to AWS cloud. What way this can be achieved. I am looking for information more on traffic management because there is not straght forward way to migrate data from first copy to AWS cloud.  Note: I know technical step to setup auxi copy in normal scenario.

Our admin has said rather than us backing up all apps or namespaces in OpenShift, we should go after only PV’s. I don’t see any way to filter for those in the guided setup for k8s nor in the UI, so, is this even possible without elaborate scripts to dump out of the various clusters and feed directly to a job?Sorry if that’s a bad way to explain it but they don’t want or care about “us” backing up OSC’s, only the PV’s.thanks

Hello everyone, everything good?I'm doing a clean install of CommVault for an environment of up to 500 virtual machines.I chose the CommCellSizing Medium setting:Medium: supports up to 500 servers, or 1000 virtual machines, or 5000 laptops in a single CommCell environment. 8 CPU cores | 32GB RAM | 200 GB of disk space for CommServe databaseI'm having doubts about this disk provisioning for the Database. Is 200GB a size that already considers growth over time or is it just for initial installation?Is it a good practice to have a partition just for the Database and separate the other solutions (Content Store)? Or does it make any difference in terms of performance?

I understand that this solution is basically an index database and job summary.And I have five questions about CommServe:1- What types of data does it receive via the network? How big is the traffic?2- What does the MediaAgent send to CommServe? Just the Job Summary?3- What does the Commvault client installed on the operating system send to CommServe?4- How is the communication flow? Who starts the backup job? Who is the first and the last to be informed? What are the communication stages and what is sent in each of them and where...5- A backup interface (Layer 2 only) is required so that this traffic (MediaAgent and Client) does not impact the production interface or this traffic is negligible, to the point that I don't have to worry about it using Layer 3 on the interface of production?

Hi allI’ve setup a small CS in my lab which I’ll be using to present to a customer.All has been installed and is working.I do notice that when I launch the Command Centre, the Dashboard view and the Reports view are both completely empty.I’ve seen two topics on the forum around this. Both fixes don’t seem to apply in my scenario.I’m running Windows Server 2019 and CVLT V11.25.29 I’m interested to hear if there are any solutions to this?Thanks.
